How Much Product Do You Need?

This is your roof's surface area, not your home's floor area — pitched roofs are larger than the footprint below them.

Is Your Roof Suitable?

  • Your roof has asphalt shingles that are sound and serviceable — still properly attached, not severely cracked, curling, or missing.
  • Any damage, nail pops, failed gaskets, and active leaks are repaired first. Rejuvenation is preventative maintenance, not a leak repair.
  • You can work safely on your roof with proper fall protection, or you arrange help.
  • If your roof is unsafe, severely deteriorated, or has failed, it needs a professional assessment before any treatment.

Equipment, Prep & Support

Equipment
Apply by brush, roller, or sprayer suited to thin, water-based coatings, as shown in the tutorial and how-to-apply guide. When spraying, back-roll with a thin nap roller cover. Always use proper fall protection.
Preparation
The roof surface must be completely dry and free of all moisture, debris, and loose material. Complete repairs and tune-up work first — patch holes, cracks, and seams before sealing.
Weather
Do not apply below 45°F or in very high humidity, and not when rain is expected while the product cures. Do not apply to extremely hot surfaces.
Application
Two coats. Per the product data sheet: 250–350 sq ft per gallon per coat; dry to touch in 1–2 hours, recoat after 2 hours, full cure in 5–7 days.
Support
For anything not covered in the guide or data sheet, check the Summit Shield label or contact us at (385) 526-5680 or info@powderroofing.com.

Third-party testing

Paintball / Hail Simulation

Independent paintball testing on treated and untreated asphalt shingle samples stands in for hail impact. The treated sample holds its granules where the paintballs strike; the untreated control shows the marks where granules were knocked loose.

This is a demonstration, not a certified hail-resistance rating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most homeowners finish a typical roof in a day once repairs and prep are done, plus drying time between the two coats. Larger or steeper roofs take longer.
